I earned my Ph.D. in Social Psychology from Syracuse University. I study social identity and social justice issues such as sexism and ethnic prejudice. I am especially interested in how the complexity of our cognitive representations influence perceptions of social injustice. My teaching expertise includes the following courses taught at Rutgers:

  • General Psychology
  • Social Psychology
  • Motivation and Emotion
  • Self and Identity
  • Stereotyping and Prejudice

My teaching philosophy centers on developing students' critical thinking skills, communication skills, social awareness, and social responsibility. In other words, in addition to learning the course material my courses focus on the professional development of students.
